Hello, my name is pancreas (the corn looking thing)
I was created to play an important role in digestion and blood sugar regulation. I am a part of your digestive and endocrine system. I am located behind your stomach and in front of your spine. Your gallbladder, liver and spleen surround me.
Indeed! Our bodies long to be friends with us. Knowing that it comprises many parts, it works hard for you to know them. Our bodies don't just want to be acquaintances, but friends, good friends. Typically, good friends care well for each other. They try to listen well and offer love and kindness whenever possible.
So, my pancreas' name is Polly. That's right Polly Pancreas. We've been trying to become good friends for years now. Ya see, I've not treated Polly very well. I've overloaded her with foods that weighted her down. And yet, she keeps working hard to give me as much health as she can.
Unfortunately, I overworked her so much, that she couldn't keep up. That's when I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2010. We will talk more about this culprit later!
